FAQ
Getting started
Is Cotime free?
Yes. Cotime is free to play — the games, the voice chat, everything. No trial period, no premium tier required for core features. It's funded by voluntary donations from players who want to support it. Learn more about how we're funded.
Do I need an account?
No account needed to play. Open the app, pick a name, and you're in. Optional accounts exist for features like a persistent community Space, but they're never required to play.
Do I need to download anything?
No. Cotime runs in your browser. Nothing to install on anyone's machine.
How do I start a game?
Go to app.cotime.eu, pick a name, and you'll get a lobby. Share the lobby link with whoever you want to play with. Once people are in, browse the activity list and start.
How many people can play?
It depends on the game. Most games support 4–16 players. Contrails goes up to 50. Poke The Ogre supports up to 250. Each activity shows its player range before you start.
The games
What games does Cotime have?
Draw and guess (Drawma), hidden-role drawing (Sketchy Artists), cooperative word association (Constellation), social deduction (Odyssey, The Descent), territory racing (Contrails), and push-your-luck physics (Poke The Ogre). New games are added regularly.
Are there more games coming?
Yes. New activities ship regularly. The community can see what's in progress and donate toward funding new games through the app.
Can I play on mobile?
Some games work on mobile, others are designed for desktop. The app will tell you if a game isn't supported on your device before you start. Voice chat works on mobile.
Does it work in all browsers?
Cotime works in any modern browser — Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge. No plugins required.
For communities and teams
Does Cotime work with Discord?
Yes. You can link your Discord server to a Cotime Space and start games directly from
Discord with the
/play
command. When a game starts, the bot notifies the linked channel.
Read the setup guide.
What's a Space?
A Space is a persistent community lobby — your group's permanent home on Cotime. It has a fixed URL and stays around between sessions. You can link it to a Discord or Slack server. Spaces are free.
Can I use Cotime for remote team hangouts?
Yes, and this is one of the best uses for it. See how teams use Cotime and read the guide on making it work.
